Small-Business Video Production — San José & Bay Area | David C. Hill Photography

SMALL-BUSINESS VIDEO · SAN JOSÉ & SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

Meet the people.
See the business.

Short business films introducing the people, spaces, and services behind a business. Explore examples from restaurants, education, recreation, and care.

I’ve worked with restaurants, schools, fitness businesses, and other service providers to introduce the people behind their work. My years in hospitality help me connect with owners and staff and understand the practical demands of a working business.

You don’t need to arrive with a polished performance. We’ll talk through what you want viewers to understand, prepare the main points, and plan photographs in motion that show your space and services. During filming, I offer direction and help people feel at ease. Scope, editing, intended use, and delivery are agreed on before the project begins.

PLANNING & FILMING

It starts with a friendly phone call.

Before filming, we’ll talk through your project and make sure we’re a good fit. We’ll discuss the space, who will take part, and how to plan around your working hours. I send interview questions ahead of time so you have a chance to think about what you want to share.

When it suits the project, I encourage you to invite customers or clients who would like to contribute a testimonial. Their own words and experiences can be one of the strongest parts of a small-business film. We’ll plan who is participating and make sure everyone is comfortable with being included.

A comfortable experience for your team.

I approach filming partly as a team-building experience: bringing people into the process, helping them feel at ease, and making the day enjoyable while keeping a professional working environment. We’ll find appropriate ways to feature the people who want to participate, whether through an interview or footage of them at work.

You don’t have to perform for the camera.

If speaking directly to a lens feels awkward, we can use an interview style with you looking toward me instead. Another option is to film a brief introduction and closing, then turn the camera off and record a relaxed audio conversation to accompany footage of your business.

Those conversations often produce some of the best material. A five- or ten-minute interview can be edited into a shorter story, selecting the moments that communicate your message clearly. The final length and deliverables are agreed on for your project.

What would you like your clients to see?

Tell me about your business, audience, and how you plan to use the video. We’ll discuss the idea, filming requirements, and delivery before agreeing on the project.
